Rename sample in vcd.idx file

How do I rename a sample name in a vcf.idx file? I have already renamed the vcf file with picard RenameSampleInVcf. Is it necessary to rename the idx file?

  Vilde Bruhn you can re-index your new VCF file with IndexFeatureFile.
